DOUGLAS COUNTY RACES AND MEASURES: RESULTS

While many races were uncontested locally, there is still plenty to report.

In Unofficial General Election Results from the Douglas County Clerk’s Office as of 3:45 a.m. Wednesday:

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis beat challenger Samantha Frost 63 percent to 37 percent.

In Roseburg, Ward 1 Position 2 city council candidate Katie Williams is leading incumbent David Mohr, 50 percent to 49 percent. Incumbent Andrea Zeilinski beat challenger Steve Hammerson to retain her Ward 2, Position 2 seat, 69 percent to 31 percent. In Ward 3, Position 2, Tom Michalek is leading challenger Sam Starns 53 percent to 46 percent. In Ward 4, Position 2, Zack Weiss beat Blake Mecham 54 percent to 44 percent. Incumbent Patrice Sipos did not seek another term.

In Winston, challenger Christie Glen-Knutson appears to have beaten incumbent Mayor Scott Rutter 51 percent to 47 percent. David Cunningham won over Onikka Driscoll for the Ward 2 Position 1 seat on the city council.

In Oakland, Betty Tamm and Kent Rochester won seats on the city council, capturing 38 and 37 percent of the vote. Wayne Harger got 22 percent.

In Riddle, Patricia Addis beat Aaron Christensen for a contested city council position.

Sutherlin voters said yes to prohibiting psilocybin businesses in the city. The measure passed 65 percent to 35 percent.

Patrons of the Tenmile Rural Fire District approved a local option tax levy to retain a full-time fire chief/paramedic. 71 percent of voters said yes while 29 percent voted no.
