Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said officers were contacted at 4:00 p.m. regarding a domestic dispute at a residence in the 1300 block of Northeast Commercial Avenue. Officers spoke with a victim who stated that the suspect struck her in the face and choked her during an argument.

The victim had numerous scratches on her neck and a lump above her eye. Officers spoke with the 45-year-old, who denied the allegations. He was taken into custody without incident.

The man was charged with strangulation and harassment. He was detained without bail.
