ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR MULTIPLE CHARGES

Roseburg Police jailed a man for multiple charges after a traffic stop on Tuesday.

An RPD report said just before 10:00 a.m. officers stopped a sedan for a traffic violation near the intersection of Northeast Lincoln Street and Northeast Beulah Street. 30-year-old Michael Singleton was the passenger and had a valid and confirmed parole violation warrant for his arrest. Singleton is a convicted felon and was detained. He immediately admitted to having a gun in his jacket.

Singleton was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and for the warrant.

At 3:00 p.m. a victim reported that she had lent her car to Singleton with the expectation that he would bring it back the following day. He failed to return the vehicle and allegedly sold it for $500. He was contacted at corrections. Additional charges of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and first-degree theft were added.

Singleton remained detained without bail.
