UCC CLOSES CAMPUSES IN RESPONSE TO SECURITY THREAT

Umpqua College College has closed its campus as of Monday morning in response to a security threat in order to prioritize the safety of its students, staff, faculty and community.

A release issued shortly after 9:00 a.m. said all classes, events and activities are canceled until further notice. Additional updates and instructions will be communicated through official college channels.

UCC President Dr. Rachel Pokrandt said, “We are committed to taking all necessary precautions to ensure safe learning and working environments for everyone”. Pokrandt said. “We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience to the academic and personal lives of our community, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding”.
