A Roseburg man was cited for eluding police on Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:45 p.m. the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said a 51-year old was possibly enroute to a residence near the intersection of Buckhorn Road and Dixonville Road. LCSO said the man was a suspect in a menacing case they were handling and was in possession of a firearm.

The suspect was located near the Dixonville Store, towing a travel trailer with his pickup. Deputies tried to stop the man but he continued east on Buckhorn Road and failed to yield. After approximately 4 miles, the man finally pulled over and complied with commands.

The suspect was detained and his firearm used in the alleged crime was seized, with the rest of his firearms and property released to family members. After being cited for eluding in Douglas County, the man was transferred north and detained in the Lane County Jail.
