Creating Community Resilience and Phoenix Charter School are hosting a community event on April 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Phoenix Charter School of Roseburg.

CCR is a collaboration between 12 organizations. A release said the event is meant to show youth and parents that learning more about health and wellness – and living healthier lives – can be fun.

Coalition Manager Rachel Gustafson said, “One of CCR’s main goals is to help build a healthy resilience community in Douglas County”. Gustafson said the Wellness Expo will be a fun event that brings the community together to learn about organizations that provide different aspects of health to area residents.

The release said Phoenix students will be sharing healthy recipes, hosting a meal and sharing wellness activities during the event. As part of promoting the benefits of animal therapy, there will be an opportunity to take a picture with a lamb or baby goat and play outside games and activities.

The Wellness Expo will feature booths from CCR core member organizations as well as other community partners offering information on topics like nutrition, youth programs and healthy living.
