WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT

May 4, 2024 5:50 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 11:00 p.m. Saturday for mountain areas in southern Oregon above 4,000 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 3 to 7 inches of snow is expected. Winds will gust as high as 40 miles per hour.

The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to the southern Oregon Cascades from Highway 140 northward. This includes Lake of the Woods, Highways 62 and 138 at Crater Lake and Diamond Lake, and portions of Highway 58 near Crescent Lake and Willamette Pass.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Snow levels will drop quickly, and rain will change to snow during the heaviest precipitation. Temperatures will be very cold Saturday night and any wet roads in the Cascades could re-freeze.
