Roseburg Police detained a juvenile for an alleged robbery on Sunday night.

An RPD report said at about 9:30 p.m. an employee of Rodeo Steakhouse in the 1200 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, went outside and left the keys in the ignition of her vehicle, so it could warm up. When she went back to the vehicle, the owner discovered a juvenile in the driver’s seat and called 911, then jumped on the hood trying to keep the juvenile from stealing her vehicle.

The report said the juvenile then drove the sedan to a nearby business and picked up another male, before allegedly driving recklessly to a store in the Roseburg Marketplace on Northwest Stewart Parkway, all while the owner remained on the hood. The juvenile ultimately parked the vehicle and allegedly threatened the owner with a knife before running off.

Officers arrived in the area and located the juvenile who was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another and for a failure to appear warrant.
