WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 1,000 FEET THROUGH 4:00 P.M. SUNDAY

March 4, 2023 6:30 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory above 1,000 feet remains in effect through Sunday at 4:00 p.m. for central Douglas County and its eastern foothills.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected. Snow may drop briefly to the valley floors at times with heavier showers.

The Advisory area includes Camas Valley, Tiller, Azalea and portions of Interstate 5 and Highway 42.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Snow levels will lower to about 500 feet during the overnight and early morning hours, then rise to around 1,500 feet in the afternoons.

Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. For current road conditions, use: www.tripcheck.com
