Roseburg Police jailed a man for unlawful possession of a firearm and other charges following a traffic stop Monday night.

An RPD report said just after 9:50 p.m. officers contacted 60-year old Albert Urena near the corner of Southeast Mosher Street and Southeast Stephens Street. After determining that he was driving while suspended, Urena was taken into custody and gave consent to be searched. Officers allegedly found a concealed firearm. The suspect did not have a concealed handgun license and had prior felony convictions.

He was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm-a felony, a misdemeanor count of driving while suspended, driving uninsured and for failure to install an interlock device.

Urena was detained without bail.
