A Winston man was charged with a felony count of strangulation, following a disturbance early Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly before 2:30 a.m. deputies responded to the 2000 block of Northwest Brockway Road. A caller said a man was out of control and had choked her with a chord and she wished to prosecute.

When deputies arrived, they contacted 32-year old Kurt Dunn and attempted to arrest him. Dunn allegedly would not obey commands so a taser was deployed. He was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Dunn was also detained for harassment and resisting arrest. He was held without bail.
