DRIVER ADMITS TO DRINKING, CITED FOR DUII

February 22, 2023 3:00 a.m.

Roseburg Police cited a driver on multiple counts following an alleged DUII incident early Friday.

An RPD Report said at 12;40 a.m. an officer observed the 33-year old swerving while driving a large SUV on Southeast Washington Street before going over the bridge. The officer stopped the motorist and asked her why she was swerving so much. The woman told the officer it was probably because she had been drinking.  The suspect consented to standard field sobriety tests and performed poorly. She was taken to the Douglas County Jail where she allegedly refused a blood test. The woman was booked and released.

The driver was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants, having no operators license, driving uninsured, failure to drive within a lane, and for breath test refusal. She was unable to find anyone to pick up her vehicle, so it was impounded.
