A semitruck crash during the snow led to lane closures on Interstate 5 in Roseburg on Tuesday.
A report from Oregon State Police released Thursday afternoon, said just before 10:00 a.m. a northbound commercial vehicle was pulling double trailers in the right lane of travel when the back trailer began to slide on the roadway. The vehicle combination spun around and struck the center barrier. Approximately 300 feet of that barrier was pushed into the left southbound lane of the freeway.
The second trailer tipped onto its right side and the entire vehicle combination came to rest facing southbound in the northbound lanes. The left southbound lane and the northbound left lane were closed for several hours as the accident scene was cleaned up. A detour was used for northbound motorists for a period of time while both north lanes were closed.
The driver, a 59-year old man, was not injured due to the wreck.
