Roseburg Police jailed a man following a foot pursuit early Thursday.

An RPD report said at 1:45 a.m. 30-year old Daniel Comes was contacted as the driver during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Northwest Highland Street. He fled the vehicle on foot and was caught after a short chase. After being captured, he tried to get back up and run away again, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was found to allegedly have over 10 grams of fentanyl in his possession. Comes was charged with attempting to elude police on foot, second-degree escape, resisting arrest, and for unlawful possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. He was cited for having no operator’s license and driving uninsured.

Comes was detained without bail.
