A busy Roseburg City Council meeting lasted just over three hours on Monday night.

A synopsis of the meeting provided by staff said councilors received the Annual Comprehensive-Financial Report from Auditor Jeff Cooley. Finance Director Ron Harker provided a quarterly financial report for the quarter that ended December 31st. Harker also shared information regarding the 2023-2024 budget calendar.

Adapt Chief of Regional Business Services Jerry O’Sullivan and Director of Housing and Recovery Community Development Gene McVae gave a presentation regarding the services the agency is providing in the downtown area.

Councilors approved resolutions regarding cell fees, authorizing and supporting an application for an Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Local Government Program grant for improvements at the Stewart Park Tennis Center, and a resolution declaring property on Southeast Micelli Street as surplus and directing staff to use a realtor to list the property.

The council authorized amendments to the Gary Leif Navigation Center project, increasing the guaranteed maximum price by just over $1.1 million for a total cost of slightly under $1.4 million.

A five-year design and engineering services contract for the Distribution Main Replacement Program went to Century West Engineering.
