CELEBRATION OF LITERACY CONTINUES WITH MORE EVENTS

The 22nd annual Celebration of Literacy continues with more events happening this week.

*Thursday the Roseburg Public Library will have an event centered around pirates and treasure. It takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free books will be given to every child that attends.

*The Umpqua Community College literacy play happens Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. It will be presented again February 22nd, 24th, and 28th.  Over 3,600 students and chaperones are pre-registered to attend one of the performances.

*The signature event, Celebrate Literacy at the Safari is Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wildlife Safari. Children will be able to explore several outdoor booths with other activities happening inside in the Cheryl Ford Event Center. This includes a book walk, face painting, a book exchange, treasure toss and more. The Roseburg Sister City Program will be there as well. All families with Douglas County children will also be able to go through the Wildlife Safari drive-through for free.
