Two people were taken to the hospital following a roll over crash Saturday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said at 3:15 p.m. the wreck took place on Highway 38 near Scottsburg. The 86-year old driver said that someone was in his westbound lane of travel and he went off the side of the road in his pickup trying to avoid a crash. The vehicle struck a tree that was sheared off, causing the pickup to roll onto its top.

Both occupants were transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport.
