MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGED STRANGULATION AND ASSAULT INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following an alleged strangulation and assault incident on Sunday.

An SPD report said just after 4:10 p.m. a victim claimed that 23-year old Timothy Luzier had strangled her, cut her stomach, stole her phone and prevented her from calling 911, following the altercation in the 100 block of East Fourth Avenue. The victim stated she was unable to breath for approximately 20 seconds.

Luzier was contacted and found to be in possession of a box cutter. He was charged with strangulation, third-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree theft, interfering with making a police report and for harassment. Luzier was detained without bail.
