A single vehicle wreck claimed the life of a Myrtle Creek man on Thursday night.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after 8:30 p.m. dispatchers received a report of the accident in the 1300 block of Dole Road outside of Myrtle Creek. O’Dell said when deputies arrived on the scene, they located a pickup which had rolled onto its top. The sole occupant of the vehicle, 22-year old Conner Jones of Myrtle Creek, was declared deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

O’Dell said deputies are continuing to investigate the crash and believe alcohol to be a contributing factor. Anyone with information which may aid in the investigation is asked to contact DCSO at 440-4471.

DCSO was assisted by several other agencies at the accident scene.
