MAN JAILED ON DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

A Roseburg man was jailed on drug charges, following a traffic stop early Saturday.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 1:30 a.m. officers stopped an SUV for traffic violations on Interstate Five at the Garden Valley Boulevard interchange, and recognized the passenger as 41-year old Tracy Fatkin.

Fatkin consented to a search and nearly 35 grams of fentanyl and over 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, were allegedly located on his person. A safe was also found in the vehicle and was seized for a search warrant application. Fatkin was charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, unlawful possession of a misdemeanor amount of methamphetamine and for attempting to commit a Class B felony. He was held without bail, but was released later in the day.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for no operator’s license and for driving uninsured and was released.
