On Friday, Feeding Umpqua received a semi-truck load of food from Sherm’s Thunderbird Market.

Feeding Umpqua Director Sara McGregor said the donation continued an annual tradition from the grocery store to the regional food bank. It began in 2006 and has resulted in over 430,000 pounds of food being given to the non-profit organization.

McGregor said Feeding Umpqua provides food for a network of 16 emergency food pantries around Douglas County.
