ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN, CITE WOMAN, FOLLOWING ALLEGED THEFT

Roseburg Police jailed a man and cited a woman, following an alleged theft incident early Friday.

An RPD report said just before 2:20 a.m. an officer saw two people acting suspicious near a propane exchange box in the 400 block of Southeast Stephens Street. The officer contacted the them and noticed 4 new propane tanks in their stroller.

The report said the suspects admitted to cutting metal to gain entry and to taking the propane tanks. 29-year old Christopher Kelsey was charged with a parole violation and for second-degree counts of theft and criminal mischief. He was detained without bail. The 46-year old woman was cited and released in lieu of custody on the theft and criminal mischief counts.
