A commercial motor vehicle jackknifed on Interstate 5 early Wednesday morning.

A report from the Oregon State Police, released on Friday, said at about 4:50 a.m. the semi-truck was northbound on the freeway about a mile north of Tri City, when the vehicle crossed into the median, going through the cable divider. The vehicle went into the southbound lanes and turned back through the cable median coming to a final rest, jackknifed on the northbound shoulder.

The semi had to be towed from the scene. 24 steel posts were damaged. The driver was apparently not injured.
