A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

A report from Sutherlin Police said at 5:50 p.m. the driver of a sedan was heading north on North State Street when her vehicle collided with the man. It was determined that the victim was likely in the roadway, which was not illuminated. He was wearing all dark clothing.

The victim was transported by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center. His condition was not available, according to a hospital spokesperson.The vehicle was towed away.
