COVID-19 CASES DROP 26 PERCENT IN COUNTY, 2 MORE DEATHS

COVID-19 cases have dropped 26 percent in Douglas County, in the week ending on Wednesday.

Information from the Douglas Public Health Network said there were 54 cases of the virus in the past week. That is down from 73 cases reported the previous week.

DPHN Public Information Officer Vanessa Becker said numbers are trending down. Becker said there were 2 more COVID-19 related deaths. 1 was 82-years old and the other was 84-years. 1 was a man and the other was a woman. Becker said neither were vaccinated.

Since the pandemic began in January 2020, 459 people locally have died related to COVID-19. 25,654 cases of the virus have been reported.
