WEBER SHIFTING TO TEACHING AND LEARNING DIRECTOR FOR ROSEBURG DISTRICT

January 10, 2023 3:50 a.m.

After eight years as Roseburg High School Principal, Jill Weber will become the Roseburg Public Schools Teaching & Learning Director starting at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.

Weber has worked for the district for over 30 years. In a statement released late Monday, Weber said she has enjoyed the opportunity to grow in various positions and roles.

Weber said the timing will allow her to facilitate the transition for a new high school principal. Weber said she is “…confident that the strong foundations we have built together at RHS will lead us to a high-quality building leader who will continue our upward momentum”.

Weber said her new Cabinet-level position provides overall direction and coordination for instructional programs for all schools in the district. She said the role is crucial for building a K-12 system that best serves the needs of all students. Assistant Superintendent Michelle Knee currently serves a dual role as T&L director and Weber said her appointment will return it to a full-time post.

More information is expected from RPS on Tuesday.
