PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY DEADLINE NEARS

January 9, 2023 9:30 a.m.

The City of Roseburg Planning Commission has a vacancy and the deadline to apply is this Friday.

Commissioner Victoria Hawks resignation was accepted by the City Council in December. This vacancy must be filled by someone who lives in the city limits. The person appointed would serve until the end of 2026.

The Planning Commission considers long and short-range land use issues within the city and urban growth boundary. They make decisions based on City Land Use and Development Regulations. The commission reviews and acts on quasi-judicial applications filed by land owners and on legislative applications initiated by the City. While some actions are forwarded to the City Council for final consideration, other decisions are final unless appealed to the Council.

The commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.

City Council interviews of candidates are tentatively scheduled to take place before the 7:00 p.m. council meeting on Monday January 23rd.
