A lack of community assistance means the Friendly Kitchen and Meals on Wheels in Roseburg is in need of volunteer delivery drivers.

Volunteer coordinator Casey Buller says the drastic decline in help has directly impacted their ability to provide meals to vulnerable seniors and home bound adults in Roseburg.

The Friendly Kitchen and Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that has been providing USDA certified and professional nutritionist approved meals since 1973. Seniors ages 60 and over and homebound adults living with the Roseburg city limits qualify to receive this meal service.

Buller said currently the agency is looking for volunteer drivers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kitchen volunteers are also needed. They are now located on the campus of Umpqua Community College. Call 673-5929 to volunteer, or go to www.friendlykitchen.org.
