A Roseburg man was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, for an alleged previous felony assault.

A DCSO report said on December 23rd at 5:00 p.m. a witness reported an assault in the 1000 block of Oak Hill Road north of Roseburg. The witness alleged that 54-year old Michael Zupon had come to the residence and argued with the witness and another man. He reportedly punched the second man in the face several times.

The witness showed the deputy a surveillance video which showed 90 percent of the event, including Zupon striking the second man multiple times, and a minor child running from the scene after the fight started. The victim reported his face was “real sore”, and there were visible swelling and marks.

Zupon was not at home when a deputy tried to contact him, but was arrested on Monday. He was charged with 4th-degree felony assault and for a probation violation. He was detained without bail.
