OBSERVED NEW YEAR’S DAY CLOSURES

January 2, 2023 6:30 a.m.

Monday is the Observed New Year’s Day and that means there are a number of closures.

Federal, state, county and city offices are closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Schools are not in session. Most banks and credit unions will not be open. Professional offices remain closed while most retail stores will be open.

Due to the actual New Year’s Day falling on a weekend, the “observed” day provides people with the same number of days off they would get if the holiday fell on a weekday.
