A California man was jailed by deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office after an alleged elude incident early Friday morning.

A DCSO report said at 1:30 a.m. a deputy observed an SUV leaving Tenmile Valley Road in the Tenmile area, and attempted to stop it. The driver pulled into a residence in the 7000 block of Highway 42 and fled on foot. After a K9 track, he was not located.

The passenger, 42-year old Gonzalo Vizcarra, also exited the vehicle and took off on foot, jumping a fence. Vizcarra eventually returned to the patrol vehicle after being held at gun-point by a resident of the property. The suspect denied any knowledge about who the driver was or why Vizcarra was on the property. During an investigation, two firearms were allegedly located in the SUV where the man had been sitting.

Vizcarra was charged with criminal trespass while in possession of a firearm, two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession/concealment of a firearm, and for second-degree criminal trespass. He was detained on $10,000 bail.
