OSP FISH & WILDLIFE SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN POACHING CASE

October 28, 2022 10:50 a.m.

Fish & Wildlife Troopers with the Oregon State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for an elk poaching case in the Glendale area.

On Wednesday, the two elk, a bull and one cow, were found in an open field on the west side of Interstate 5 near milepost 84 south. The bull was not touched, but the cow was processed with the edible portions taken. This indicates that those involved were in the area for a lengthy amount of time. It is believed that the subject(s) used a flashlight in the field between 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. There is also a report of a subject driving a midsized pickup with a rifle in the area along the freeway earlier on Tuesday, according to OSP.

OSP Fish & Wildlife is urging anyone with information about the identity of the person(s), or vehicle in this case to call the OSP tip line at 1-800-452-7888.
