COUNCIL APPROVES ALL AGENDA ITEMS

The Roseburg City Council approved all items on its agenda Monday night.

Councilors adopted a resolution approving a property tax exemption for the residential portion of the Rose Apartments on Southeast Stephens Street. The building is owned by the non-profit organization, NeighborWorks Umpqua. Property taxes will remain for the ground floor, which houses four businesses.

The council adopted an ordinance annexing a just over one-quarter of an acre property into the city. It is located adjacent to Northeast Housely Avenue.

Councilors had first reading of an ordinance amending a section of Roseburg Municipal Code. It will allow for members of the city council and the mayor to be eligible to receive reimbursement for their cell phone and internet costs, at the rate of $50 for each per month.

Mayor Larry Rich proclaimed November 11th as Veterans Appreciation Day.

The meeting lasted for only 37 minutes. The next meeting for the Roseburg City Council is set for Monday November 14th.
