The one-week closure of Melrose Road at the South Umpqua River, which had been scheduled for August 15th-22nd, will be postponed for at least one week.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said the delay will give the contractor more time to construct a temporary bypass bridge, which will be located next to the existing Conn Ford Bridge.

Latham said ODOT will announce the new dates for the closure as soon as that information becomes available.
