HOT TEMPERATURES NOT RECORDS FOR THE DATE

It was a hot afternoon in Roseburg and Medford on Sunday but neither city had a record high for the date.

Data from the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 98 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The record for August 7th was 103 degrees, set in 1960. Medford got to 102 degrees. The record for the date was 111 degrees, set in 1981.

Afternoon highs are expected to drop to between the mid and upper 80s in Roseburg for the rest of the week. In Medford, the high should be near 100 degrees Monday. Highs should drop by several degrees for the balance of the week.
