TWO TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL AFTER TWO-VEHICLE WRECK

Two people were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck in Roseburg on Monday.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 3:20 p.m. a vehicle was traveling westbound on Northeast Alameda Avenue when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Northeast Vine Street. The second driver, who did stop at the intersection, had her vehicle hit by the first motorist. She was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center for injuries. Her small child was also transported after receiving only a small cut. The woman was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson. No information was provided regarding the child’s status.

The driver who caused the accident was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. The second vehicle received heavy damage and had to be towed. The first vehicle was able to be driven away.
