4 MORE DEATHS, 148 MORE POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 13 MORE PRESUMPTIVE

4 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 148 more people have received new positive test results and 13 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Weekly Update reported data between February 24th and Wednesday. Next week will pass the two-year mark since the first positive case of COVID-19 was identified in the county. Next week will also be the final Weekly COVID-19 Update from the Board of Commissioners. The Douglas Public Health Network will continue to conduct local case investigations, provide case management and education, offer support services to isolated cases, and maintain their tracking and reporting systems.

New deaths include an 81-year old woman, an 85-year old woman. and a 70-year old woman. One delayed death was reported: a 75-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 8th and passed away on January 21st. 3 were not vaccinated and 1 was fully vaccinated, but not up to date. 368 county residents have now died related to COVID-19 during the pandemic.

The total number of cases is now at 19,451. Of those, 18,551 are people that have received positive test results and 900 are presumptive. 14 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 12 locally and 2 outside the area. Over the past week, CHI Mercy Medical Center averaged 2 COVID-19 positive patients a day in the Intensive Care Unit and 1 a day in the Progressive Care Unit. 11 of the 14 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
