RECORD DAILY STATE CASE COUNT FOR COVID-19 SINCE PANDEMIC BEGAN

On Thursday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily state case count for COVID-19 since the pandemic began, for the second time in a week.

OHA said the state had 2,971 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 250,835 -meaning more than a quarter of a million people have contracted COVID-19. The previous daily case record was 2,941, which was reported on Tuesday

The report showed 19 new deaths, raising the state’s death toll to 2,994.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 845, which is 5 fewer than on Wednesday. 226 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 more than on Wednesday. That number is another record high for the pandemic.

*225 in Multnomah County

*218 in Marion County

*207 in Washington County

*188 in Josephine County

*171 in Deschutes County

*82 in Linn County

*70 in Umatilla County

*67 in Polk County

*64 each in Union and Yamhill counties

*57 in Lincoln County

*53 in Klamath County

*44 in Tillamook County

*38 in Coos County

*34 in Curry County

*26 in Clatsop County

*25 in Columbia County

*23 in Malheur County

*17 in Wasco County

*16 in Wallowa County

*15 in Jefferson County

*14 each in Baker and Benton counties

*12 in Crook County

*11 in Hood River County

*9 in Grant County

*5 in Sherman County

*4 each in Gilliam and Harney counties

OHA reported that 10,674 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,567 were initial doses and 1,405 were second doses administered on Wednesday. 6,227 were administered on previous days but were entered into vaccine registry on Wednesday.
