COVID-19 CLAIMS 11 MORE LIVES, STATE’S DEATH TOLL AT 2,975, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 11 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,975, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 2,139 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 247,866.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 850, which is 12 more than on Tuesday. There are 224 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 more than on Tuesday. Both of these numbers are record highs during the pandemic, for the 2nd day in a row.

*201 in Multnomah County

*194 in Marion County

*169 in Douglas County

*153 in Lane County

*140 in Josephine County

*112 each in Deschutes and Washington counties

*101 in Clackamas County

*85 in Umatilla County

*77 in Linn County

*68 in Polk County

*47 in Yamhill County

*38 each in Curry, Lincoln and Union counties

*36 in Crook County

*33 in Coos County

*30 in Klamath County

*25 in Benton County

*22 in Clatsop County

*20 in Tillamook County

*18 in Baker County

*17 in Jefferson County

*15 in Morrow County

*10 in Wallowa County

*7 in Wasco County

*4 in Hood River County

*2 each in Gilliam and Harney counties

*1 in Grant County

The new deaths ranged in age from 50 to 90. 3 lived in Marion County. 2 each lived in Jackson and Umatilla counties. 1 each lived in Douglas, Jefferson, Yamhill and Josephine counties.

OHA reported that 9,355 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,711 were initial cases and 1,134 were second doses administered on Tuesday. 4,988 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.
