SCHOOL BOARD TO HAVE FIRST MEETING OF NEW FISCAL YEAR

The Roseburg School Board will meet Wednesday night as the new fiscal year gets underway.

New board members Ann Krimetz and Andrew Shirtcliff will be administered the oath of office by Superintendent Jared Cordon. A board chair and vice-chair will be elected.

The board will vote on a request to expand the number of security cameras at district schools. Staff is proposing to spend over $236,000 to add over 50 cameras at 9 schools in the district. Staff also wants to spend over $64,000 on a new awning for the main gym at Roseburg High School.

The board will act on a request to spend over $123,000 on laptop computers for instructional staff.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the district office on Valley View Drive. Cordon said the last in-person board meeting at the office was held in March of 2020.
