COVID-19 WEEKLY REPORT SHOWS A RISE IN CASES AND HOSPITALIZATIONS

The Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 Weekly Report, released on Wednesday, shows an increase in daily cases and hospitalizations and a decrease in COVID-19 related deaths.

OHA reported 1,318 new daily cases of COVID-19 during the week of Monday July 5th through Sunday July 11th. That represents an 11 percent rise over the previous week.

New COVID-19 related hospitalizations rose to 104, up from 66 the previous week.

There were 54,702 tests for COVID-19 for the week of July 4th through July 10th. The percentage of positive tests was 3.4 percent up from 2.9 percent the previous week.

OHA said people age 70 years of age and older have accounted for 38 percent of COVID-19 related hospitalizations and 74 percent of COVID-19 related deaths.

The COVID-19 Weekly Outbreak Report shows 21 active COVID-19 outbreaks in senior living communities and congregate living settings with 3 or more confirmed cases and 1 or more COVID-19 related deaths.
