An Air Quality Alert continues for most of Douglas County.

An update from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said a high concentration of smoke particulates is coming from both the Jack and Bootleg fires.

The alert also applies to eastern Jackson, and Klamath and Lake counties.

Smoke can irritate the eyes and lungs and worsen some medical conditions. People most at risk for adverse health effects include infants, young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and pregnant women.

The alert said smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. Check current conditions by going to: https://aqicn.org/map/oregon/
