A Winston man was jailed in an alleged reckless driving incident on Sunday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 6:30 p.m. callers said a pickup was speeding between 80 and 100 miles per hour in the 1,000 block of Winston Section Road. The report said the vehicle destroyed two mailboxes, slid sideways for over 100 feet, and then rolled into a ditch.

20-year old Peter Homan allegedly gave a deputy a false name and stated he was only going 25 miles per hour when the wreck took place. Homan was detained and his ID was located on his person. It was confirmed that there was a felony warrant for his arrest.

Charges included reckless driving, 3 counts of recklessly endangering, second-degree criminal mischief, giving false information and for the warrant. After arraignment, bail was set at $30,000.
