TWO JAILED IN STOLEN VEHICLE CASE

Two people were jailed in a stolen vehicle case on Sunday.

A report from Oregon State Police said just before 11:30 a.m. a vehicle that had been reported stolen was seen being towed by a pickup on South Calapooia Street in Sutherlin. A Sutherlin Police officer assisted by stopping the pickup until a trooper could arrive.

35-year old Allan Hay Chapman and 42-year old Gordon Carnahan were both detained and charged with unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle and for a number of warrants. Hay Chapman was held on $256,250 bail while Carnahan was detained on $206,250 bail.

The report said the owner of the stolen vehicle recovered it.
