A Roseburg man was jailed for an alleged burglary on Friday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said 36-year Donald Potts broke into an office in the 600 block of Del Rio Road, and destroyed it, causing well over $1,000 in damages.

The report said the suspect broke almost all the windows in the building, and almost every room had been turned upside down. Potts reportedly told a deputy had had been selected to participate in a game show in the Roseburg area, and the people on the show had locked him inside the building. The suspect said the building was going to catch fire so he had to break the windows to try and get out.

Potts then admitted to recent use of methamphetamine. The report said the man may have been experiencing a meth induced psychosis.

The man was charged with second degree counts of burglary and theft and for first-degree criminal mischief. Bail was set at $106,250. He was detained at about 10:20 p.m.
