A 28-year old man was jailed by Roseburg Police on Thursday, for an alleged theft incident.

An RPD report said at 1:00 a.m. officers contacted Michael Weller in the 3100 block of Northeast Stephens after recognizing him as a suspect from a theft which had occurred on July 1st.

The report said Weller gave officers a false name and date of birth during questioning before he was finally truthful. The man was taken into custody and some of the stolen property was recovered.

Weller was charged with theft in the second degree, giving false information to a police officer and for a warrant. Bail was set at $12,500.
