JACK FIRE NEARS 2,400 ACRES

The Jack Fire, burning approximately 30 miles east of Glide, is nearing 2,400 acres, as of Wednesday morning.

Information from the U.S. Forest Service said the fire is burning in grass and timber east of Jack Road and west of Jack Creek. It was first reported at about 5:00 p.m. Monday.

Highway 138E remains closed due to the fire, between Steamboat and Slide Creek. Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation has set an eastside soft closure checkpoint at Lemolo Lake junction to allow for local access into nearby recreation areas, including Lemolo Lake.
