10 people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Monday.

A release from the Winston Police Department said officers responded to the accident at the intersection of Lookingglass Road and Brockway Road at about 10:00 a.m. Sergeant Mike Miller said the driver of a pickup allegedly ran a stop sign and his vehicle was struck by an SUV. Miller said the pickup was traveling north on Brockway Road while the SUV was headed east on Lookingglass Road. Both drivers were estimated to be driving at about 45 miles per hour. Two adults had to be extricated out of the pickup.

The WPD report said 4 adults from the SUV, plus 3 adults and 1 one child from the pickup, were transported by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center. 2 children from the first vehicle were also taken to Mercy by privately owned vehicle.

Once at Mercy, 1 adult with serious injuries was transferred to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, while another adult was transferred to Peace Health Sacred Heart Medical Center at River Bend in Springfield.

Miller said the driver of the pickup was charged with driving while suspended and for failure to obey a traffic control device.  Names of those involved in the wreck were not released by the WPD.
