INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY CLOSURES ANNOUNCED

Though July 4th was on Sunday. Monday is being observed as the Independence Day Holiday in commemoration of the Declaration of Independence which was signed on July 4th in 1776 by the Continental Congress.

Federal, state, county, and city offices are closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Banks and credit unions are closed. Professional offices are not open. Most retail stores are operating as normal, though some have closed for the day.

Freeway and highway traffic is expected to be heavy late in the afternoon.
