COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,457, AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 new lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,457, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 704 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 173,626. The new cases include:

*88 in Multnomah County

*79 in Clackamas County

*69 in Washington County

*63 in Marion County

*59 in Deschutes County

*57 in Lane County

*54 in Jackson County

*43 in Klamath County

*29 in Josephine County

*25 in Grant County

*20 in Linn County

*15 in Crook County

*13 in Polk County

*9 each in Baker and Umatilla counties

*8 in Yamhill County

*7 each in Benton and Douglas counties

*6 each in Columbia, Coos, Lincoln and Wasco counties

*5 in Morrow County

*3 each in Clatsop, Curry, Hood River, Jefferson and Tillamook counties

*2 each in Lake and Union counties

*1 each in Malheur and Wallowa counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 45 to 8. 1 each lived in Columbia and Klamath counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 199, which is 4 more than on Thursday. There are 52 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 1 fewer than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 47,407 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state’s immunization registry. Of that total, 28,146 doses were administered on Thursday. 19,261 were administered on previous days but were added into the vaccine registry on Thursday.
